Internet Speed
We're on! I'm now running on fibre optic broadband and the speed is noticeably quicker to say the very least, have a look for yourselves:
I've just done a FaceTime up on my top floor office in my house, I've never been able to do this because my old Sky router was sending the broadband signal far enough!
Now working from home isn't going to be such a pain!
All of my BT Infinity stuff arrived yesterday ready for the engineer on Friday. I'm pretty impressed with BT so far because I haven't had to pay for any of it, they've sent me the router which is far better than the router that Sky provided me with! Apparently the BT router will reach 50 metres which is great for me because I have a 2 storey house and my home office is up on the top floor, currently with my Sky router my iPhone and iPad don't get a WiFi signal on the top floor which as you can imagine is pretty frustrating! The other impressive things about this whole set up from BT is that they also have to lay the fibre optic cable to my house and they're not charging me for that either.
I've just checked my internet speed on http://www.bandwidthplace.com/, I'm currently with Sky broadband. I'm signed up for the unlimited package but I've not been getting the fastest internet! As of Friday I'm moving over to BT Infinity, so I'll be on fibre optic broadband so that should be much faster, fingers crossed...
This was my results:
I work for an internet based company that deals with Care Jobs , Care Home Jobs, Nurse Jobs, Social Work Jobs, Medical Jobs and Dental Jobs and I'm often working from home so I need my internet to be as fast as possible or it can be horrible.
I'm usually excited about Friday anyway but this week it can't come quick enough! :)
Paul
