Our Liverpool Branch is seeking a Registered Nurse who has experience working with complex clients to work as a Lead Nurse in community based packages of care.



You will support our branch and provide training to carers delivering packages of care for adults in Merseyside, Cheshire and North Wales.



You will have the ability and desire to make a difference to the lives of adults in the community with complex health needs, by providing your expert knowledge and care.


We want to expand our team of healthcare professionals, who support us in the delivery of complex care to a number of families in the Merseyside & Wirral areas, specifically with regards to clinical assessments and reviews. This will also include training and mentoring highly skilled Care Assistants to enable them, with clear protocols, to undertake clinical tasks.



There is a degree of flexibility within the role and would appeal to a Nurse already in part time employment or a Nurse that is looking for a change in direction away from their current working environment.



You will be supported by our existing clinical structure, regional support teams and the Liverpool Branch Manager. As Lead Nurse in this capacity you will:




  • Carry out risk assessments

  • Complete Advantage Healthcare Care Plan documentation (training will be provided)

  • Supervise trained carers, ensuring compliance & competencies are being met

  • Attend Multi-Disciplinary Meetings & Discharge Planning meetings for new packages of care

  • Liaise with other professionals involved in the care of the client, including: Physiotherapists or Dieticians

  • Provide support to our care teams with initial training and on-going clinical supervision



You will need to have a valid NMC PIN and access to your own car, along with the willingness to travel throughout the local area. Satisfactory references will also be required to show your skills and experience.

About the Role


We are looking for a dedicated professional to join our dynamic team of therapists working in Bupa's busy central London private hospital.


You will be an experienced Oncology Physiotherapist and be able to demonstrate substantial expertise in the field of oncology and related issues and demonstrate sound reasoning skills.You will also have experience as a general medical physiotherapist, including ITU along with some experience in neurological rehabilitation.


You will hold a Degree/diploma in physiotherapy along with HPC Registration and CSP Membership.


Role Summary:


You will be a highly skilled physiotherapist able to undertake all aspects of your clinical duties as an autonomous practitioner. You will provide a client-centred and evidence-based service to adult patients referred mostly from the oncology unit and will include rehabilitation and respiratory needs of an oncological nature.


Referrals are received from the wards, ITU, other departments ie radiotherapy, outpatient consultant and GP clinics as well as via external routes. Referrals are for in- and outpatients.


This post provides assessment, treatment and discharge planning to a caseload of adults with varied and often complex needs.


You will participate in the on-call system.


You will also on occasion be required to assist physiotherapy collegues in other specialities depending on your caseload and clinical competence.


Clinical Responsibilities


1.Practise as an autonomous and accountable professional using reflective practise and clinical reasoning in undertaking specialist assessment in order to provide an individualised treatment programme for each patient.


2. To provide appropriate information, education and support for your client group and their carers.


3. To obtain informed, valid consent on an ongoing basis which endeavours to keep patients involved in their own health care plan.


4. To participate in discharge planning and liaise with external agencies in order to ensure a discharge that is safe and supportive of the patient's ongoing care and rehabilitation needs. This could include home assessments within our catchment area.


5. To comply with confidentiality policies as set out by the BCH, HPC and the CSP.


6. To respect a patient's right to be chaperoned and appropriately implement the hospital chaperone policy.


7. To maintain accurate, comprehensive and timely patient treatment records and reports in line with local and national requirements for best management of the patient.


8. To manage clinical risk within your caseload at all times and ensure potential clinical risk is effectively communicated and managed.


9. To promote dignity, privacy and safety at all times, with particular consideration of the patient's cultural, spiritual and personal needs and preferences.


10. To be aware of the limitations of your own clinical practice/experience and seek support appropriately.


11. To be responsible for the ethical, safe and competent recommendation and provision of therapy equipment, splints and braces.
