Care Assistant – Paediatric

Advantage Healthcare is recruiting for a skilled Care Assistant to support a young boy with complex care requirements in his own home.

£8.00 - £11.50 per hour, Waking Nights

The care of a 3 year old boy has been entrusted to Advantage Healthcare Group. He suffers with a rare and catastrophic form of intractable Epilepsy. As a result he requires Buccal Midazolam, and has a gastrostomy for feeds and PEG for medication. Occasional oral suctioning is required to ensure this little boy's comfort.

We are looking for a Care Assistant to monitor his saturation levels throughout the night and to perform oral suctioning as required. A working knowledge of gastrostomy care and Epilepsy management is essential, although client specific training is provided. You will have previous experience of supporting young children with complex care needs and be able to commit to regular waking night shifts.
