The Job Role Main responsibilities: Within this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for the care of surgical patients on a busy ward. The wide range of clinical procedures provided by the Hospital means that you will be exposed to a diverse range of nursing specialisms such as: orthopaedic, paediatric and bariatric surgery. Your role will include managing a group of patients, providing clinical skills including communicating with the patient, assessing their immediate and future care needs and aiding their recovery. This might include care of their surgical site, medicine management and fluid balance. You will work as part of a friendly team and you will be supported by senior nurses who have the knowledge and experience to assist and support you to achieve high standards of nursing care. You will have chance to gain many skills in caring for a wide variety of patient types. Working hours: This is a full time position, 37.5 hours per week. The post entails working on a rotation basis covering both day and night shifts. Who we are looking for Qualifications & Training: We are looking for qualified Registered Nurses. Experience: The successful candidate will have experience of working in teams and working with minimum supervision. Previous surgical experience is essential and ideally you will have experience of applying clinical reasoning skills to a range of complex and varied patient case mixes.
