Job Reference - VAC-14417 Job Title - HDU Lead Location - Bradford, West Yorkshire Salary - £28k-£33k per annum Hours - Full time, mainly days but may include occasional nights and some weekends My client is a Private Hospital based in Bradford and are part of an International Healthcare Company. The hospital has 57 beds and 5 theatres offering elective surgery and care. The Role An exciting opportunity has arisen to be involved in providing excellent high dependency care and participate in the development of the new high dependency unit. The unit is planned to open in August 2014, with a view to progressing to a four-bedded level 3 care unit as the service develops. The unit will be predominantly a post-surgical unit providing level 2 care for patients undergoing orthopaedic & general surgical procedures in the immediate post-operative phase. The successful candidate Will be responsible for delivering high quality HDU care in unit and on the ward Will assist in the further development of the HDU unit/service Will provide guidance and leadership to Ward staff in relation to high dependency care Will work with surgeons and anaesthetists to build confidence in the critical care service and facilitate expansion of surgical complexities Will assist in developing the scope and competence of the Ward nursing team Will supervise more junior staff nurses, students and healthcare assistants, and assisting in the orientation of new staff You will need to be RGN qualified and have a certificate in HDU.
