Support Worker

Look Ahead provides a wide range of specialist care, support and accommodation services to over 8,000 people every year across London and the South East. We work with local authorities and health trusts to support individuals with a variety of needs including mental health, homelessness and learning and physical disabilities, We also work with young people, teenage parents and those with experiences of offending Southwark Accommodation Based Service (SABS) is an accommodation based support service for 113 customers in the London borough of Southwark. The accommodation is provided in 23 separate units across the borough in a mix of shared and self-contained accommodation with some housing management responsibilities. The service provides support from 9am to 9pm from Monday to Friday and 9am to 5pm on Saturdays. Key Responsibilities:  Building supportive, trusting relationships with customers and creating a positive atmosphere.  Working proactively with other members of the team to handle the service caseload and administrative responsibilities.  Supporting customers to set personalised goals in the form of a Support Plan.  Conducting regular key work sessions that are innovative and engaging in order to achieve Support Plan goals.  Ensuring on going assessment and management of risks associated with customers within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’.  Providing support with daily living activities, including practical assistance to support customers to independent living e.g. budgeting, cooking, community activities.  Supporting customers to maintain a healthy environment and where appropriate assisting them to clean their accommodation and maintain good personal hygiene.
