Children’s Information Advice Officer

Pay rate is £14p/h Ltd/ Umbrella Company 6 month full time contract initially - Hertfordshire County Council are recruiting for a Children's Information Advice Officer to join their team in the Hemel Hempstead area. CIAO required for the St Albans Assessment Team in Apsley 2 - This is an unqualified role for 6 months. The role involves being the point of contact for all concerns raised from various sources and to accurately record key elements of concern. Aspects of the role include: *To make a preliminary identification of children and families needs, assessing the risk in respect of the concerns raised and either to take a referral or give information and or advice or redirect as appropriate *With management direction and support, to undertake basic follow up and clarification of the original contact to liaise with other Children's Services teams, other agencies and members of the public as appropriate *To understand the thresholds pertaining to the different tiers of service provision *To contribute to the process of multiagency/ social care decision making by providing appropriate and sufficient information of the concerns raised *To make full use of the range of computer systems *Gather and accurately record information both manually and on computers to support the Quality Assurance of the service *To attending regular meetings along with colleagues, management and other professionals and to support the aims and objectives of the service Requirements: You must have solid experience working with children and families Ideally you will have worked within a Local Authority children & families Team You must be flexible, adaptable and able to hit the ground running You must be capable and quick to pick up your own workload You must be able to work deadlines and be able to work in a pressurised, fast paced environment You must also have excellent communication skills You must be willing to undergo or have undergone an enhanced DBS check You must be a car driver with your own transport and business insurance For further information please speak to Katy Cunnion on 01785 256605.
